From-Scratch Apple Pie and Mini Pecan Pie

(1) Happy thanksgiving! (2) I miss cooking already.

This was my last dish before leaving Massachusetts. Simple pies made of fresh ingredients, especially the Texas pecans, which is a birthday gift from my aunt there. Basic pie dough “feel”: butter, flour, and water until sticky, coated with egg brush, and drizzled with cinnamon-brown sugar-butter syrup before baking to golden.
